Weekly Best Dress : Lily Collins in Ombre Elie Saab Dress

The stunning 25-year-old girl – Lily Collins appeared on the red carpet in Rome last week with a beautiful gown from Elie Saab haute couture SS14.

The dress made up of different shades of purple and accessorised with a thin black belt and sported Brian Atwood heels, Norman Silverman earrings, and silver rings by EF Collection, Vita Fede, and Melissa Kaye Jewelry.

In order to look elegant and effortless, Lily Collins wore a deep purple lipstick and dramatic eye make-up. As well as her simple hairstyle and charming smile, she got the spotlight on the red carpet.

I am not a purple fans but this dress really caught my attention! I think this gorgeous gown is perfect with Lily Collins , it would not be over mature for her and suitable for the occasion.

Another fashion icon and revolutionary has passed away. The world just got a little less elegant.

Oscar de la Renta passed away 21 Oct 2014, aged 82 after a long battle with cancer that began in 2006.

De La Renta was famous for high couture and beautiful gown and gorgeous dress, he empower women to look the best.

He worked with many iconic women, from US former First Ladies Jacqueline Kennedy to actresses and supermodels. Hillary Clinton is one of the fans of De La Renta and he designed many of Clinton’s famous pastel-colored pantsuits. Actress Emma Watson wears an Oscar de la Renta gown at the premiere of Noah on March 2014.

Another signature creation should be this gown on actress and fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker of Sex in the City fame.

 

The loss of an icon and fashion inspiration – both Audrey Hepburn and Oscar de la Renta.

Peter Copping who took over as new Creative Director of the brand that was appointed by De La Renta just last week, the whole world is looking forward to a new and remarkable collection.

For those readers who read my posts before, I personally is a huge fan of Olivia Palermo her style. She always effortlessly pulls off a cool style.

Palermo recently conducted an interview with Net-A-Porter and shared her brilliantly useful style tips as well as her future plans. She also did many gorgeous photoshoot with ’60s and ’70s references and those outfits are from various international brands include Valentino, Lanvin, Pierre Hardy, Gucci etc. Olivia Palermo is the fashion lovers of fetishes, and an eminent example of celebrated style. Plus she won a reputation as one of the world’s best-accessorized women.

In short, she mentioned several necessary items for ladies and women , in order to look flawless and amazing like her everyday.

• Skinny belt

Since proportions are really important. Belt can sometimes change the size and extra tightness. It is helpful to keep all outfits together.

• Double-sided tape

“Double-sided tape is also one of my favorites – if you’re out and your hem rips then you can do a little fix to it.” Olivia Palermo said.

• Long thread

Long thread is better to keep in bag , incase necklace breaks. What a thoughtful and great solution!

• Hair elastic

For me, this is a very wise suggestion! Hair elastic not only ties long and beautiful hair, but also helps to push the sleeves up when they will not stay.

Gemma is BACK!

What a great surprise that Australian angel – Gemma Ward makes her catwalk return! 

Gemma walking on the runway for Spring/Summer 2015 Prada during Milan Fashion Week yesterday after she gave a birth to her first daughter Naia. After quitting the modelling business in 2008, she showed up at catwalk in a black trench coat with white stitching detail.  Pairing a thick pair of black and beige heels and long blue socks at the bottom.

Gemma has modeled since the age of 15, and was the youngest person ever to grace the cover of America’s Vogue Magazine.

   

Since 2008 the blonde beauty slowed down her modelling career to pursue acting, she had an astounding results for example she was nominated for two ‘best actress’ awards for her role in the Australian film The Black Balloon, and she also starred in the horror movie The Strangers (2008), Pirates of The Caribbean : On Stranger Tides (2011) and The Great Gatsby (2013).

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally tied the knot after their long-term romantic relationship, their private wedding ceremony took place last month at France in front of 20 family and friends included their six children in attendance.

This lovely couple released some exclusive photos to People magazine and shared details of the big day , it was such a memorable ceremony for two of them as well as their children.

What we can not take our attention away is Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress! Her wedding dress was custom-designed by their children’s colourful drawings. The veil and ivory dress has a classic look from the front, but the back view showed the extent of her children’s creation. Atelier Versace designer Luigi Massi put all the children’s drawings into the dress and veil and became an very unique wedding dress.

Trends come and go. The trend that is never going to go out of fashion : boyish style. Boyish style means ‘borrowing from the boys style’, taking style inspiration from men fashion and decrease the outfits boundary from masculine and feminine. Androgynous style is definitely one of the trend for A/W 14.

Slim silhouettes for example a fit tailored blazer can also emphasize the feminine elements of women. Ice-Bucket Challenge.. Do It Only If You Mean It!

Over the last few weeks, the Internet is alight with the Ice Bucket Challenge! This campaign was launched by ALS Association since last month in order to raise awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The original idea was that when the gauntlet was thrown down in the ice bucket challenge, you either need to give $100 to ALS or dump ice water on your head. Most people includes Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gate. Lady Gaga, Rita Ora and David Beckham opt to both donate and get soaked, then posting the videos on social media.

相當最近幾個星期大家的social network都被 Ice Bucket Challenge洗版。這個活動捲席全球，由ALS Association上個月開始籌辦，目的是讓大眾增加對肌萎縮性脊髓側索硬化症Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)的認知。參加方法好簡單，一係就接受冰淋倒下的洗禮，要不然捐款$100美金到ALS機構，把錄影放到social network之餘，需要點名另外3名好友挑戰。好多名人包括 Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gate. Lady Gaga, Rita Ora 同 David Beckham等等，都接受了被冰淋同時捐款。

For some people who thought doing the ALS bucket challenge it’s a joke you’re just lame. Ice-bucket challenge is a gimmick  – and it’s good. It successfully helped the ALS Association  raised more than $31 million so far of the challenge. The most important thing is that it actually raised awareness among public. ALS research and patient care thanks to the ice bucket challenge.

很多人完成ALS bucket challenge 的同時認為 ‘just for fun’，同時質疑它的成效。事件上，ice bucket challenge只是一個噱頭，但同時這個活動確實為ALS機構帶來超過$31萬的捐款，更重要的是令世界各地的普羅大眾知道並且了解ALS這個疾病。

Audrey Hepburn’s Granddaughter Stuns in her Modelling Debut

Emma Ferrer – the name sounds unfamiliar , right? She is not a Vine star nor a fashion vlogger, but an art student at the Florence Academy of Art with an extremely famous grandmother – Audrey Hepburn. Ferrer’s father is Sean Ferrer, the son of Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer, Audrey Hepburn’s first husband.

This 20-years-old young lady was born in Switzerland and raised in Los Angeles and Florence. Michael Avedon, the grandson of one of Hepburn’s most frequent collaborators – Richeal Avedon, and Harper’s legendary British editor Glenda Bailey, came to reach Emma for a photoshoot. Her first-ever shoot dedicated to Harper Bazaar’s September issue and successfully become a newborn star in fashion industry.

Her cover debut in a show-stopping black and white gown featuring a satin skirt and red floral waist embellishment from Lanvin’s fresh Resort 2015 collection with classy and elegant pose.

Emma appearly inherited her grandmother’s grace and looks, and she showed off her beauty in two Harpers covers, probably will be another Hollywood legend.

Perhaps influence by her grandmother, she not resisted to being a model even though she is studying to be an artist. She was delighted to say that ‘modelling would be an amazing accompaniment to what it is I want to do’.
